Five Victorians awarded Gold!

This year, five Victorians shone as the best of the best in business communication by being named winners of the prestigious IABC Gold Quill Awards!

Our winners are Kelly Vandrine and Jon Mills (Bupa Australia), Amy Baird (AIA Australia), Chris Dvoracek (Transform Consulting) and Lelde McCoy (Ogilvy Public Relations) who were selected for recognition out of nearly 900 entries from 26 countries.

For more than 35 years, IABC’s annual Gold Quill Awards program has honoured the best of the best in business communication, offering professional communicators an opportunity to have their work evaluated by expert judges. The Awards will be officially presented at the IABC World Conference in San Diego in June.

Amy Baird won her award for educating AIA employees about the implementation of a new strategy for the life insurance products provider. The company had gone through a substantial period of change which led to a shift in strategic direction and a new strategy.

"I think it is fantastic that communicators are able to share their work and learn from others through recognition programs such as the IABC Gold Quill Awards. The opportunity to gain feedback and to share your ideas with a wider circle is extremely valuable, especially for solo practitioners such as myself," Amy said.

No stranger to Gold Quill awards, Christine Dvoracek, ABC was recognised yet again this time for her campaign on the demerger of the DuluxGroup.

"While I have won Gold Quills before, this is extra special. It's a first for Transform Consulting, my own business, and a triumph for DuluxGroup with a challenging project to support their demerger".

To recognise excellence in business communication at a local level, the Victorian Chapter of the IABC has a local award, the Bronze Quill. All Victorian Gold Quill winners are eligible for local recognition in the Bronze Quill Awards. This year, IABC Victoria is pleased to award seven entrants, adding Laura Butler (GE Capital) and James Howe (Ambulance Victoria) to the list of winners.

We will celebrate the Bronze Quill Award winners at our upcoming IABC Victoria Gala Dinner on 26 May at the Hilton Hotel. To secure your ticket, click here.
