Fusion 2017: Conference wrap up part 1

Couldn’t make it to Singapore for Fusion 2017? Never mind, our official #FusionConf2017 reporter Amanda Dennett has a summary of all the happenings for you here!

Day One: Wednesday, 23 August

I was so excited to arrive in Singapore for #FusionConf17! I have to admit the humid heat was a shock to the system after the recent arctic-like chilled winds we have been experiencing in Melbourne. It was a relief to discover hotels and shopping malls in Singapore love to blast the air conditioning.

The leaders and aspiring leaders of IABC boards from chapters across Asia Pacific spent the day at the Leadership Institute. First off, board representatives from each IABC chapter in attendance gave an update. IABC Victoria’s Vice President Danielle Jorgensen gave the IABC Victoria update.

Throughout the day there were presentations on board management, and an engaging panel discussion with former IABC Presidents from the Asia Pacific region. Wednesday evening was the Welcome Reception for all conference attendees, hosted by Telum Media at the rooftop pool bar Alligator Pear. Afterwards, we parted ways in small groups for the Dine Around dinner. People chose from cheap and cheerful fare at the Lau Pa Sat hawker market, through to fine dining at Bar Roque.

Don’t miss Part 2 or Part 3!
