Oh, what a night! IABC Victoria Gala 2014

Thanks for attending this year's IABC Victoria Cocktail Gala. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

The night was warm (for May, anyway). The drinks were cold. The nibblies were hot (and tasty). And the guests were fired up for a great night out.

This year’s IABC Victoria Cocktail Gala on 21 May saw around 70 Victorian communicators converge on the stunning Mon Bijou.

We got together to celebrate. Celebrate our profession. Celebrate the last year. Celebrate the re-kindling of old friendships (and the making of new ones). And, of course, to celebrate our very large large team of Gold Quill and Bronze Quill Award winners.

And, all in all, it was a great night. We hope to see you all at next year’s Gala and, perhaps, at one of our upcoming events.

In the meantime, why not check out our gallery? We hope we caught your best side!

Thanks

There’s a lot of people to thank for an evening like this.

First up, thanks to you – that is, to everyone who attended. You’re the people who make a night like this (and IABC Victoria itself) such a special place to be.

Thanks also to our event partners – Deakin University (our major event partner), The Launch Box, Porter Novelli, Print Impressions and Pumpkin Productions. Without them, staging the IABC Victoria Cocktail Gala would be impossible.

The same goes for the many volunteers who brought the event to life – the people who work tirelessly organising the partnerships, prizes, bookings, marketing and, of course, the night itself.

Thanks to our door prize providers who helped many of our guests walk away with a bonus they weren’t expecting.

And, finally, a special thanks to Squadron Leader Steve Baker, the leader of the Royal Australian Air Force’s aerobatics team – the ‘Roulettes’. Steve took time out of what is a very busy schedule to share some fantastic insights with us.

Congratulations

Of course, the main purpose of our annual Cocktail Gala is to honour the 2014 IABC Victoria Gold Quill and Bronze Quill recipients. It’s a long list this year, which is an exciting reflection of the quality of work being done in Victoria. As Adrian Cropley said on the night, there’s a real buzz about IABC Victoria overseas and we should all be proud of that.

So, congratulations one more time to our many 2014 recipients. They are:
