President’s Letter – March

It seems as though we’ve seen the end of summer in Victoria, but things are still pretty hot around your local IABC chapter.

This month we welcomed new Professional Partner, Carrera Partners, to the fold and are delighted to be working with them over the coming year. Carrera Partners are experts in sales, marketing and communications recruitment. You can find out more about them on our Professional Partners page on the website or their own website.

Save the date for the 2012 IABC Victoria Cocktail Evening! On May 30, Vue De Monde will host us for a night celebrating all things communications! We’ll be recognising Victoria’s cream of the crop communicators – including this year’s Bronze Quill Award winners – along with some special guests. More details are available on our website.

We were also super excited to find out we were the winners of three Chapter Management awards.  IABC Head Office presents these awards to Chapters who display operational excellence in various categories and we were winners of Excellence awards for Leadership Development and Branding and a Merit award for Communications. They were awarded for last year’s board term, under Jennifer Frahm’s leadership. Congratulations to the 2010/11 Board  – Jennifer Frahm, Rebecca Cattran, Damian Mannix, Stacey Buchanan , Elise Olney, Jen Quilty, Kelly Vandrine, Kelly Marshall, Mirella Manganaro and student chairs Jessica Ciccotelli and Sam Regester – on your achievement.

And finally, I would like to give a shout out to a couple of members celebrating special membership anniversaries this month – Louisa Graham (5 years) and Christine Elmer (5 years). Thank you for your ongoing support – it’s lovely having you both around!

Until next time….

Kate
