President’s letter – September

Well hello there!

For those who don’t know me, my name is Kate O’Donnell and I am your new chapter President. I am delighted to be leading IABC Victoria for the coming 12 months and hope to continue to deliver outstanding local value to you, the members.

I hope to build on the hard work of previous boards and continue to increase member engagement, become more present in the digital space and strengthen the IABC brand in Victoria.

Since you last received ‘Connect’ there has been a change of faces and it is with great pleasure that I introduce six new board members to the table:

·      Monika Lancucki – Vice President

·      Jamie Garantziotis – Communications

·      Kim Lovely – Professional Development

·      Richard Roach – Brand and PR

·      Belinda Lawrie – Education

We extend the welcome to our new student chair, Sam Regester.

Also, a special thanks to those who have stepped off the board, Mirella Manganaro, Elise Olney, Kelly Marshall, Jen Quilty and Anny Ma.

It’s been a busy month for the board. This coming Sunday we will hold our annual strategy day where we set the objectives for the coming year. It is always a day full of passion, enthusiasm and excellent ideas and I’m sure this year will be no different.

A special congratulations to Amy Baird of AIA Australia. Amy is the newest member of IABC Victoria to become accredited and will now have the prestigious letters ABC following her name. Congratulations Amy!

Our next event is at lunchtime on Thursday September 29 and promises to answer all of your questions on copyright in communications. Tickets are on sale now and more information is available here. Hope to see you there!

We are always on the hunt for volunteers, so if you are keen to get more involved in the chapter and make the most of your membership, please get in touch.

Until next time,

Kate O’Donnell
