President’s update: Victoria, the golden state

Hi everyone,DL150

It’s pretty cool when second month on the job, I get the pleasure of announcing IABC Victoria’s biggest ever haul at the Gold Quill Awards. The Gold Quill is IABC’s global awards program that recognises best-practice communications, as judged by expert evaluators from around the world. As one of my colleagues put it, it’s the Oscars of the comms world!  It has been such an exciting week for our entire chapter, with 12 Gold Quills finding their new homes in the Gold Rush state.

I am particularly proud that some of our board members have won multiple awards, which just proves the calibre of our Board, and that we are surrounded by greatness! A full list of global winners is available here.

Congratulations to our Victorian Gold Quill Award winners:

Excellence Awards

  • Cabrini Health
  • Fenton Communications
  • ANZ
  • Transform

Merit Awards

  • Telstra
  • Buchan Consulting
  • Ellis Jones
  • JAW Communications (x2!)
  • Sacred Heart Mission/Cropley Communications
  • Deakin University
  • CSIRO

While not all our winners will be able to make the Awards presentation at the IABC World Conference in New Orleans in June, we’ll be celebrating IABC Victoria’s record haul at a special Gala event on Thursday 19 May at the Arts centre – and you’re invited!

IABC Victoria Gala – 19 May

Tickets to the IABC Victoria Gala go on sale soon, and as in years past, will sell out in no time. So make sure to put the date in your diary and dust off your party frock!

With 12 Gold Quills under our belt – and a tonne of Bronze Quills yet to be awarded – expect to see the Arts Centre spire lit up in gold!

Who says Victoria’s gold rush ended in the 1800s?

Cheers,

Deb
