Win a Scholarship to the IABC World Conference

IABC Vic is very excited to share with all members the opportunity to win a scholarship to the IABC World Conference to be held in New York, 23-26 June.

The scholarship covers conference registration, which includes general sessions, breakout sessions, welcome and networking receptions, and is valued at  US$1430.

There is only one scholarship to be won in the South Pacific region, so competition will be strong.

This is a fantastic member-only opportunity.

Applicants must fill out a short form which includes the question –  In 100 words or less, explain why would you like to attend the global conference.

Interested? Please contact Glenda Hewitt, IABC regional council representative for South Pacific, directly at iabc.glenda.hewitt@gmail.com

Applications close 28 March and the scholarship winner will be announced on 31 March.

Good luck!

  1. Thank you for the opportunity to apply for the IABC World Conference scholarship. Given Victoria Legal Aid’s financial situation, without a scholarship I would be unable to attend.

Why I would like to attend the conference: (100 words)

Due to an increase in demand for legal aid services, particularly relating to family violence, without a corresponding increase in funding, Victoria Legal Aid recently announced significant cuts to eligibility guidelines, services and staff numbers. The organisation has had to prioritise those most in need, so that now not just the poor, but only the poorest get legal aid.
Communicating this internally and externally has and continues to be extremely challenging. I would like to attend the conference to get inspired with the best ideas and latest trends to sharpen my mind to continue this important communications challenge.
