The end of September in Victoria means footy finals, over-excitement for 20 degree sunny days and a spring in our collective step. It’s been a long winter so I think we are all looking forward to coming out of hibernation, some regular sunshine and getting back outside.
Lucky for you, we have been busy getting everything ready for you to get back out there and be part of the community again!
October is membership month, which means discounts for new members and those choosing to renew. With so many activities planned, including special member only events, we would love to welcome you to our community. Because for me, that is what IABC is all about, a ready-made community and network at your finger tips with knowledge and resources on tap.
It’s Quills time again and we want to help you experience the sense of achievement, recognition and satisfaction that winning a Quill brings. But don’t take my word for it; hear first hand from the CSIRO and their award winning ‘Bees with Backpacks’ project. We are very lucky to have the former Gold Quill Awards Chair Monika Lancucki hosting an exclusive member-only round table event, so you can learn all about the awards and the nomination process.
One of the highlights for me this month was the Crisis Communications event. We invoked Chatham House rules and boy did they have some stories and insights! Thank you so much to talented and intelligent Ella McPherson, Nicole Matejic and Rebecca Wilson for sharing your wisdom. If you missed the event, check out the wrap by Mary Todorov.
A quick note to our members that we are currently reviewing all of data to make sure that everyone’s details are up to date. You may hear from a member of the board so please keep an eye on your LinkedIn account and email for a friendly message. This is a great opportunity for you expand your IABC network quickly and easily, so please reply and let us know how we can help you get more out of your membership. Please also feel free to contact me directly at any time email@example.com – I’d love to hear from you.
PS – I LOVE podcasts and if you’d like to know a few of my favourites you can find a recent blog post here.
