ICYMI Victorian communication professionals won an outstanding 18 IABC Gold Quill Awards, many winning more than one award.

Congratulations once again to: Aurecon (two awards), Ellis Jones (four awards including the Jake Wittmer Research Award), Pesel & Carr (two awards), Cropley Communication & The Centre for Strategic Communication Excellence (three awards), Major Road Projects Victoria (two awards), Pinch Yourself Communication, Forest and Wood Products Australia, Beca, Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation (SMEC) and Suncorp Group on their outstanding achievements.

Did you know Victorian Gold Quill entries have the opportunity to win three awards with the one submission?

Here’s how it works:

Gold (global): awards are marked out of a total of 7 points. Any entry scored above a 5.25 wins a Gold Quill Award of Merit; entries scored above a 5.75 win a Gold Quill Award of Excellence.

Silver (regional): any Gold Quill entry that scored above a 5.15 automatically wins a Silver Quill Award. So even if you missed out on a Gold Quill, you can still win a Silver Quill if you scored above 5.15.

Bronze (local): any Gold Quill entry that scored above a 5 automatically wins a Bronze Quill Award. So even if you missed out on a Gold and/or Silver Quill, you can still win a Bronze Quill if you scored above 5.

And every year we celebrate our local talent at our annual Bronze Quill Gala Dinner. This year we’ve had to postpone it because of the coronavirus pandemic but we’ll be in touch later in the year with details about what we have planned. In the meantime, we’ll look at other ways to highlight our local award winning work.

Late last year our members told us that in addition to our annual award celebration, they want to see more resources for new entrants such as case studies about award-winning communication work.

So here are some case studies to help inspire you – more to follow.
